ADPOCALYPSE

Info

Most traditional advertising demands your attention. Entertainment is something you choose. So, rather than simply telling people that, we turned the idea into a playable 8 bit game. Adpocalypse challenges players to dodge annoying ads, collect entertainment and, most importantly, avoid dying of boredom. I led the art direction, character design and scene illustration, taking inspiration from the wonderfully weird worlds of classic 8 and 16 bit computer games. Working closely with the developers, I helped shape the game from the first sketches through to the final playable experience. It was a fun and unexpected way to land a serious point, sometimes the best way to get someone’s attention is to create something they actually want to spend time with.
